About Stuart
Stuart gained an Honours degree in illustration and design at Maidstone College of Art, before returning to Teesdale, where he lives and works as an artist.
His paintings have been commissioned by clients worldwide. One of his paintings came runner-up in the ‘Not the Turner Prize’. It hung in Mall Galleries, London, in 2003.
Stuart paints from photos and specialises in creating an exact likeness of his subject, using gouache as a medium.
Commissions take between 2 and 4 months, depending on workload. Prints can be viewed in the online galleries.
Stuart is a keen animal lover, with three dogs of his own, as well as a small flock of hens and a pair of ferrets.
